Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston has welcomed the opening of the official Ukraine appeal by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC). The amounts raised via donations will be matched pound-for-pound by the UK Government, up to £20 million pound.

MP for Harborough and Levelling Up Minister Neil O’Brien MP made a visit to Twycross Zoo to see how £19.9 million of funding from the Government will benefit the region.

Neil O'Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, has paid tribute to the owners of W H Cox Grocers in Wigston. Having been in Wigston since 1888, the family-owned businesses is now closing, after serving the community for an incredible 134 years.

During the visit, Neil met a number of students who were planting trees, and also saw the recently completed all-weather outdoor hockey pitch.

A new ‘private parking code of practice’ is being introduced to tackle issues often faced by users of private carparks. The work to introduce the new code is being led by Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough and Minister for Levelling Up.

Many constituents have been in touch with me over recent months to share concerns about proposals to introduce parking charges in Oadby, Wigston and South Wigston.

The 2021 Christmas Card competition has been won by a local Market Harborough pupil, 11-year-old Isabella Longfield of Meadowdale Primary School, Market Harborough.
