I recently met with local NHS leaders, and one thing I raised was how confusing many people find the current service at St Luke's Hospital in Market Harborough.
At the moment, St Luke's mainly offers urgent, same-day GP appointments. The appointments are available, but you need to book them through NHS 111 or your GP surgery.
The good news is that people are being seen. But I still hear from residents who turn up expecting a walk-in service and understandably leave disappointed.
There are advantages to the current system because it helps make sure people see the right healthcare professional at the right time. But it's important to be clear that there isn't a walk-in service for minor injuries or other conditions.
I'd really like to know what you think. Should we be campaigning to bring back a walk-in service at St Luke's? Or is the real issue that the NHS needs to do a much better job of explaining how the current service works?
