Neil O’Brien, MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston welcomed the Anthony Nolan Charity alongside the Rik Basra (Help4Rik) and Meena Kumari-Sharma (Match4Meena) teams to Parliament on 17th July 2019 to continue raising awareness for their fantastic work in the fight against various blood cancers.

The Anthony Nolan campaign focuses on matching individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people who desperately need lifesaving transplants. The visit to Westminster took place to further increase support and recognition for the vital work conducted in assisting individuals with blood cancer by the Anthony Nolan charity.

The fantastic work from Anthony Nolan has allowed thousands of individuals to recover from blood cancers, such as leukaemia, with over 1,300 people being helped through the incredible work from the Anthony Nolan charity in 2016-2017. With over 750,000 members the Anthony Nolan register allows the charity to match incredible individuals to people with various blood cancers and blood disorders in need of lifesaving transplants.

Joined by Neil were constituents Rik Basra and Meena Kumari-Sharma's team, leading figures in the fight against blood cancers alongside the Anthony Nolan Charity. Both Rik and Meena posses inspiring stories in their fights against blood cancer with their campaigns, Help4Rick and Match4Meena, being leaders in the fight against blood cancer alongside Anthony Nolan.

Neil said, "I am delighted to welcome the Anthony Nolan Charity, Rik and Meena to Westminster to assist in advertising their brilliant work in the fight against blood cancer. The strength and determination demonstrated by Rik, Meena and the thousands of others affected by blood cancer provides inspiration to us all and to bring the fight against blood cancer to Westminster enables us to assist in the search for more donors throughout the UK".
