I have been campaigning for better access to banking services across Harborough, Oadby & Wigston, and I am pleased to see the new Banking Hub in Market Harborough making a real difference since opening in December.
However, I know many people in Oadby struggle to access banking services after the last bank closed in September. For those who rely on in-person banking, particularly older residents and local businesses, this is a serious issue.
That is why I have written to Cash Access, the principal operator of banking hubs, and LINK, the UK’s ATM network responsible for assessing community needs and recommending locations for new hubs, to enquire about the potential for a site in Oadby.
I believe that a site on the Parade would work well, and I will keep residents updated as decisions are made.
