It was good to meet up with local councillors and residents to talk about the future of Burford Green on Western Avenue.
The council are developing a plan to build a large community centre and car park on the green area, and I have been contacted by a number of local residents about this.
While I can see the case for new facilities I wonder if putting them on the main green space in this part of town is really the best option?
Most importantly, we need to see some actual plans and proposals which have been lacking so far. Next week things should get clearer. On Tuesday there will be a drop in consultation event in the Symington Building from 10 to 6pm where I think the plans the Council have commissioned should be available for the first time.
And on Thursday there will be a community public meeting at the Royalist pub opposite at 6.45pm where the plans will be debated with local ward councillors.
Please do go and have your say if you live nearby.
